A house becomes a home through intention
Bhumi Interior Studios is a residential interior design studio based in Hadapsar, Pune. Founded by interior designer Karthik Shetty, the studio takes homes from first walkthrough to finished room: layout and redesign, material and finish selection, furniture, lighting, and the detailing that finishes a space. The name comes from bhumi, Sanskrit for earth. The studio works from layout outward: drawings before moodboards, and site supervision through to the final styled room.
What the name means
Bhumi is Sanskrit for earth or ground: the place a home begins. It gives the studio its name and its principle, that a home should hold you the way the earth holds a house.
How we work
A project starts with a walkthrough, in your home, at the hour you use each room most. We watch where light lands, where storage has overflowed, and where you have quietly stopped going. Nothing is drawn before that.
Then we draw. Layouts first, because moving a wall is cheaper on paper than anywhere else. Then storage, then surfaces, then light. Each decision is made against the last, so the finished rooms read as one house rather than five separately decorated ones.
We stay on site through the work. Drawings are a set of intentions, and the gap between an intention and a finished joint is where a house is won or lost.
